@cstamitz ZUBIN MEHTA is *ALWAYS* needed and always loved and I am sure these two marvelous Violinists are honored to be with him or they would not have accepted. Who would not want to appear with Maestro Mehta for G-d sakes!!!!!

I really like the slower pace because I feel like I can hear all the notes. This is my favorite recording by far.

too slow

They will play faster if it's 14' size violin rather than 16.3' size violin LOL

Great Pinchas! He can choose any tempo he likes.....and the beauty comes out.

this video must be ancient, isn't Pinchas an older man now? in this video he looks to be about 30 years old. I wonder how he would play this piece now. I wonder if he would still do it with a full orchestra, or if he would do it more historically correct.

@Harmonieuniverselle o those HUGE violas???!! they r missin? never notice......actually i know very little about stringed instruments.....but still this is a nice interpretation! dont u feel so?
this is slower than most baroque orchestras take this piece. i like this tempo--it makes it much more transparent. you can hear all of the musical intricacies.

The conductor here is pretty much unneeded. I mean how many players are there? And these are world class musicians. They could play this music in their sleep.
