  • how do you train these birds? are they friendly with everyone?

  • I use positive reinforcement with them. They are not friendly with everyone, they have their favorites. With proper training, it can take anywhere from a few days to a few months to have these birds flying in tip top shape. Thanks for watching.

  • keep up the good work! i'm surprised you don't have more views!

  • Thanks for watching!

  • your a great person. very caring for animals. birds of prey are my favourite animals. so 1 question. can they pick up very large prey like moose. i heard they can pick up 200 pounds of animal carcass

  • Thank you for the kind words. A general rule of thumb for a bird of prey is that they can carry what they weigh. So an 8 pound eagle can probably carry off a 7-8 pound animal. So anytime you hear of a bird carrying off something huge like a moose, it is a myth.

  • you need to relax a bit bro

  • Jeff, can you do your hair like Ace Ventura in one of your next videos?

  • @JefftheZooGuy thats not true at all. An eagle can only carry at most up to half it body weight. It would be entirely to cost inefficient to be able to lift your own body weight. so an 8 pound eagle could only lift up to 4 MAYBE 5 pounds of prey.

  • @JefftheZooGuy thats not true actually jeff. Eagles can only carry off about half there body weight, it would cost them way to much energy to lift off with their own body weight. So an 8 pound eagle can only carry about 4 MAYBE 5 pounds at the most.

  • Liking one animal more than the other is a strictly human characteristic. Every animal is beautiful in its own way and should be respected for it is. But I am human, :)), so I say that the birds of prey are the most beautiful and impressive animals in the world. Could you also make some vids with a golden eagle or bald eagle or peregrine falcon? Because I see you go to different zoos in order to make your clips. Also, is that barn owl a subadult, because its face is not white yet? Great clip.

  • Nice video but that Harris looks like it needs a bit of a coping! :P

  • @ssundar99 My brother and his fellow raptors do a great service for these birds. They are responsible for saving ,caring for and releasing many back into the wild. My brother raises them and flys them but very quickly they decide not to return to handler and go back to the wild, then he'll capture another and often breed them. The method that responsible raptor's use increases the wild bird population as their infant mortality rate in wild is high,

  • @ssundar99 friendly? they are flying dinosaurs,My brother has been raising them for over thirty years,Owls, Hawks,Falcons many varieties of each. I would just love when the ladies would come over to see the "Pretty" birds and he would warn them to take off their bright red lipstick as the birds might think it was meat and try to eat them. He's got a few scars from his own birds but for most part safe if you study and understand their behavior. He riases them for hunting. He is a "bird brain"

  • great no dislikes cause these birds are beutifal

  • Aboslutely love your videos! watched about 4 of them today and going to check them all. great choices of topics and interesting facts!
