She was removed from the games because Universal thought she was too 'Mature' for the intended age group Crash Bandicoot was created for, and according to Naughty Dog, the character never turned out the way they wanted.
She returned as a Cameo in nearly every Crash game (Picture framed on Crash's Fireplace), she was on the sign of 'Moulin Cortex' in Crash Twinsanity and she was a playable character in Crash Boom Bang.
