If Cambodia is to embrace the 21st century, it'd better draw a clear line between spiritual beliefs and real life, like in the West, Christmas is one of the most enjoyable times of the year, yet only children believe Santa Claus is real. Khmer Kingship and Khmer Buddhism seem to bring back superstition into many walks of life again at an alarming pace, and getting disconnected from reality can lead to a pervasive mental disorder: psychosis. Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin were paranoid (psychotic). When paranoia has real power, its a KILLER.
