Based on this vid I went and got a bmax for $150 (seemed like a good deal). I have a pretty kick ass p bass with Nordstrand pickups. Anyway, I didnt dig the sound. Have it up for sale on craigslist for $200. Just didnt growl like yours does. Too sterile sounding.
Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you Bohs ... it works for me for as a great practice rig in conjunction with the Carvin AG100D acoustic amp ... Let me know what you get that gives you a better growl .. good luck man
Thanks ! It's the solid state B-Max .. and your right , the price difference is way too much for the tube version , otherwise I would of got it myself .. but it's a combination of both the Carvin AG100D acoustic amp and the B-Max ... great for practicing !
They're Elixir's but I'm currently using Ernie Ball .... I like the Elixir's but once they 'shed' their protective coating they look pretty nasty ... at least I can take off these and boil them and get more twang out of them for a few more days
