@Birdseed72 - The Rosary is interwoven with elements from Holy Scripture, especially the mystery before each decade with words taken from the Bible. The 1st part of the Hail Mary comes from the Gospel; the 2nd part is like the response of children who, addressing themselves imploringly to their mother, express their own adherence to the plan of salvation" revealed in Scripture. Pope Benedict concludes, "the minds of those who pray remain anchored in Scripture and in the mysteries it contains."

@Birdseed72 regarding the Eucharist, start with John Chapter 6.

@Birdseed72 limiting prayer to anything that is contained word for word in scripture is a fine line to walk, as this would, carried to its end, limit us to the use of any songs that are not from the psalms, any instruments in worship that were not period, etc. God's relationship with the Church grows as the Church grows.
