  • stupid screw? i would have to say that you must be smarter than the machine your working on sir.... you installed it , you should have checked bolt clearance and functionality prior to shooting it.

  • @jeffyjames2k11 You must be an expert. Unfortunately the problem is a design flaw with Ruger. They do not design the gun to have the rail removed without having to reinstall the screws. Enjoy your Superiorty since you have never made a mistake in your life.

  • I'm having trouble cycling cheap ammo. winchester & Federal bulk box in my stock 10/22. (CCI MiniMag work 99.9%!) It won't eject the spent round and it gets stuck in the chamber/ magazine area. The next round won't chamber because there is a spent casing jammed in there. Really annoying! 1 out of 2 or 3 rounds get stuck every time. Note: this is using the Ruger BX25 magazines. What is wrong here? Bad ejector? This gun has got to be able to shoot more than just CCI MiniMags. Any suggestions?

  • @urbancavedude You may have a bad extractor. I would recommend allowing a couple of hundred rounds through the gun and if it continues, either have replace the part or order a volquartsen extractor. Thanks for the comment and watching our video!

  • This has been helpful 'cause I could see myself doing just what you did and having exactly the same problem.

  • My 1994 era 10 22 came with four very small screws installed in the receiver. They can be screwed flush into with the top of the receiver without interfering with the function of the bolt.

To install the Ruger sight rail you remove those stock screws and use the longer sight rail screws, which are just the correct length, and can also be screwed flush with the sight rail.If you lost your stock screws ...Ruger do stock them . The stock screws in my factory tapped Mk 3 pistol also fit the 10 22.

  • I have been having this same problem. Thank you for posting this video.

  • shorter screws might work poor design?

  • you dont actually have to take the top rail off to field strip this gun(doesnt hurt accuracy) the only reason you would have to take of the top rail is if you are going to change the stock

  • Another great video!

I highly recommend just installing the 4 screws through the sight rail. I mean, it only takes another minute to remove them, and you will assure a tight weld between scope base and action... The stock is capable of excellent accuracy.. Might as well make it as accurate as possible... I've built quite a few, but I can tear down my 10/22 Archangel in about 5 minutes, including those 4 screws.... Only my humble opinion...

If you decide you want a new sight rail, PM me.
