A giant Lego man-- 8 feet tall, has mysteriously washed up on Siesta Key Beach in Florida. Seriously. Take a look at this video from ABC News...

REPORTER: "Jeff Hindman was the first to spot Lego Man, as he strolled the beach near Siesta Key Village."
HINDMAN: "I thought it was marine life, I thought it was a manatee or something like that because it was still pitch black, the sun wasn't up yet. And then, of course, when I got up to it, I realised it was some big lego looking thing..."

The front of the Lego Man's plastic shirt reads "No Real Than You Are" while on the back it reads "Ego Leonard" with a number "8." A quick Google search for Ego Leonard leads you to--

This website-- run by a guy named...Ego Leonard.

"My name is Ego Leonard and according to you I come from the virtual world... I am here to discover and learn about your world and thoughts."

On the website, he asks you to share your story with him via email. The Herald Tribune accepted the challenge-- and got a response written in first person.

"'I am glad I crossed over. Although it was a hell of a swimm,' ... 'Nice weather here and friendly people. I think I am gonna stay here for a while. A local sheriff escorted me to my new home.'"

Kinda weird. And even more weird when you hear-- this isn't the giant lego-man's first trip to a distant shore. Evidently, he visited Holland in 2007 and in England in 2008. Take a look at this video from the BBC of Ego Leonard on the sands of Holland.

"Nobody knows where he's come from, only that he washed up on the beach in the Dutch seaside resort of Zandvoort and immediately proved a popular attraction."

So, where are these mysterious Lego figures coming from?

They're said to be the alter ego of a dutch artist of the same name-- whose profile on Prescription Art's website features paintings of other giant Lego men.

The Ego Leonard who just arrived in Florida is currently in "protective custody" until an owner steps forward, otherwise he will be returned to the man who found him on the beach.
