There is no reason for this to be happening.
Like you said the earth provides freely the resources we need, we have the man power and technology to produce food. this is what happens when someone is denied access by others to have things like shelter,food ,education, and other things they need to survive because of money and selfish greedy individuals.
who feel money gives them the right to decide who can have and who cannot.

this is natural selection. get over it :)
