Small Buck Hit Too High

These two bucks walked 15 feet in front of us and i stopped the bigger one at what i thought was 18 or so, i put the 20 pin on him and let fer fly and it hit him real high. So far he hasnt been found. We are coming to the conclusion that i hit him above the spine, and in the backstraps. Hopefully he will survive this hit.

reading some of these comment makes me relize how stupid some people really are... missing and wounding is part of hunting, ecspecally bow hunting, we practice year round to avoid misteaks like this, but sometimes they still happen. Happy Hunting

@GlobalAntiHunting did you read the description? the deer was not fatally hit and was not found. which means it lived atleast long enough to run far off, and will probably survive

man i cant belive he didnt drop i know that arrow hit bone. but hey it happens i did the same thing on a doe earlier this season found a few drops of blood then nothing. but dont go to hard on yourself it happens to everyone.

man I just lost my first deer, Great SC buck still halfway in velvet, 15mph crosswind at 40 yards, well short story short i hit him about 6-8 inches back, right in the gut, arrow was covered in blood, shit, hair, and there was even peices of meat on the ground! waited an hour, didnt find any blood, woke up the next day, looked for 3 hours and didnt find anything! i feel horrible. but it happens to the best of us, ohh well i guess.

I'm surprised he didn't drop right there. That arrow sounded like it made a spinal tap. Weird, he should survive.

usually thats a kill shot did you get him later.

i have hit em like that and found them 150 yds away with no blood maybe 1 drop but then you get to dump em out later lololo
