The Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1000G engine is an all-new centerline engine that includes flight proven, next generation technology. The PurePower PW1000G features an advanced gear system that allows the engines fan to operate at a slower speed than the low-pressure compressor and turbine. The combination of the gear system and all-new advanced core delivers double-digit improvements in fuel efficiency and environmental emissions and a 50 percent reduction in noise.

@edcoondog Hi - All future P&W engine testing will be done at our new Mirabel Aerospace facility in Montreal. We will start the first flight test of the PW1524G engine for the Bombardier CSeries mid year. You can be sure we'll post footage of the flight testing...
