  • Seems like a lot of power for such a small consist...How big is Pan Am's business train? Are they part of NS? Just curious

  • @goodeye03 It's not a lot of power considering both engines are clunkers.

Pan Am Railways is not part of NS. This train was a "celebration" for the joint venture between the two. NS and PARailways started a company called Pan Am Southern where PARailways and NS would both own it and the goal is to improve service along the main line from Mechanicville to Ayer (the Patriot Corridor). PARailways still runs the trains on it. PASouthern exists in name only, it is operated by Pan Am Railways.

  • so who rides in the train? railfanners or business?

  • business

  • Ahhhh so here's part 1 of that chase you were telling me about yesterday at the open house

  • Are you doing anything tuesday or wednesday? I'm not working any of those days. I am planning on doing some railfanning. Not sure where though.
