Unfortunately, it's easier to impose dogma than common sense or civility.

When someone (not wingnut) uses the term PC I assume they mean POLITE.

I remember a few years ago hearing that the owner of a cafe in the UK wanted to put an ad in a job centre for someone to help out in his cafe. The wording in his ad specified someone of a friendly disposition. The ad was refused on the grounds that it was discriminatory against people who were not friendly.

Now on a serious note, I'm not aware of anyone I know that's as anal (today) about this. I call blacks black, and of the three I know, none cared. One i WANTED to call a nigger, but he was a douche, so he doesn't count. MOST people tend to not care, even those who dont mind political correctness (fag and nigger are a no no to me for example).
