As I was leaving the Eastern trail I spotted several Red-Breasted Merganser swimming together. Then I saw a lone female eating a fish! I watched it repeatedly try to angle the fish so it would fit in its mouth and then try to get it down its throat. It would then spit it out and try all over. This was happening as my camera let me know I had about 1 minute of tape left! Would I get to see it actually enjoy the meal? Find out by watching the video...

  • I meant that you also have the Common Merganser. You mentioned the RB Merganser was rare in UK. Is the common more prevalent? Do you have the Hooded Merganser too?

  • These are considered extremely rare in the UK. Lol, I saw a pair today on the coastline...

  • Cool. You have the Common Merganser in the UK though, right? I think they call it a Gooseander in Europe?
