I'm from Biloxi area and saw, at age 20, a bodybuilding contest at the Biloxi Saenger in '82. I was only 6 in '68 and was in SC at the time. You really should have gone to see her!! Wow, she smolders...in a kind of wholesome way.

Reba herself stated Bobbie Gentry's original 1969 single of Fancy was one of her favorite songs ever and inspired her to cover it. I give her credit. Her label M.C.A was against it and even relegated it as the third single off her 'Rumor Has It 'album. Today it is her signature song and Bobbie has made millions off the Reba cover. While I far prefer the  blues and grit of the Gentry original' I'm glad the song is on five Reba cd's with 15 million copies sold. She helped make it a classic.

i realise u comment on a lot of bobbie gentry videos so i guess your'e a big fan, but even though this isnt reba's song she still sings it better, Reba was the 7th best selling female artist in all genres,she sold over 55 MILLION albums,has a star on the walk of fame,and still has been singing for over 34 years and where's bobbie gentry now, and i didnt even know who she was until i looked up fancy, she sings good though if only she hadnt retired so early

Can't Dance? These are classic showgirl dance moves Bobbie learned as a member of the Folles Berge. Bobbie started out as a professional dancer. She even did the chorography for her legendary Vegas review. In 1970 most female singers stood in front of a mic and sang. Bobbie was always interested in expanding the horizon.
