It never seizes to amaze how people approach Michael Bay's movies expecting something out of the workshop of the Cohen brothers. The guy makes straight up action movies. There is no story, there is no realism, just an eye-candy-brain-in-the-neutral summer flick. Every time I watch one of his movies, that is all I expect.

@wookovar The Matrix, and other such smart and good action movies spoiled us. Even Bay's action scenes are pretty horrible and boring. I'm not saying he should make good movies, I'm simply saying he shouldn't make movies. I'd love to see Transformers... but I'd love to see it made well. Action and quality filmmaking can be put together! I have no idea why people want action movies to only be dumb and stupid.

I enjoyed the first Transformers a lot more. The second one was watchable, but the first one was far better in my opinion.

A better movie would just be to combine all the parts of the robots fighting (and have the humans excluded if possible in those parts) and then just make it one movie. That's all I want from Transformers, no romance, no stupid human plot, just transforming robots beating the heck out of each other.

@LordPhillock8 When I want to watch quality filmmaking, especially in the action genre, I turn to Ridley and Tony Scott, Paul Greengrass, Antoine Fuqua, Christopher Nolan and the works of the likes. What I'm saying is, one part of movies is entertainment and that doesn't necessarily require a story to get myself involved in. Just pure and simple entertainment. Smart and good action movies are rare these days, until they come by, it's not a crime to kill the time with Bay's fireworks.
