The music "Once Upon a Time in America" is the theme of the 1984 epic crime film of the same title, directed and co-written by Sergio Leone and starring Robert De Niro, Elizabeth McGovern, and James Woods.
The story chronicles the lives of Jewish ghetto youths who rise to prominence in New York City's world of organized crime. The film explores themes of childhood friendships, love, lust, greed, betrayal, loss, broken relationships, and the rise of mobsters in American society.

Ennio Morricone is an Italian composer and conductor.
He has composed and arranged scores for more than 500 film and television productions.[2] Morricone is considered as one of the most influential film composers since the late 1950s.[3] He is well-known for his long-term collaborations with international acclaimed directors such as Sergio Leone, Brian De Palma, Barry Levinson, and Giuseppe Tornatore.
He wrote the characteristic film scores of Leone's Spaghetti Westerns A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). In the 80s, Morricone composed the scores for John Carpenter's horror movie The Thing (1982), Leone's Once Upon a Time in America (1984), and many more...
