Laptop vs Desktop

what the fuck is wrong with this guy. laptops are obviously the better choice. first of all you can pick yourself up a pretty damn good laptop for gaming. i have a gaming laptop. the specs are the i7 2630qm 8gb of ram, the nvidia gefore 460m with a 1920x1080 resolution. it will run any game i throw at itincluding crysis on its highest setting. plus i can take it all around the house amd to my friends house

@alexeatskittys Why can you explain? see am thinking of selling this "new" computer i just bought this year. to be honest am very unhappy with it its loud laggy with games and cant do much in sound. all its stuff is intergraded so no upgrades, sooo question i can sell my ;aptop and listen to my brother and get a laptop. or listen to my friends in school and save up and build a system that best suets me from new egg, am also working on selling it for about 380 USD so is that enought?

My laptop specs are ram 4gb, i7 2.90 ghz cpu, nvidia geforce display card with 2gb, 500gb of hdd but I still get lags while playing unplugged and even when its plugged i get lags playing gta 4 with the maximum settings... any solutions???

@ImCalledJackk No, not at all. Modern laptops are not as good as modern desktops, because the components aren't full sized in a laptop. With desktops, there is no size or battery limitations like there are on laptops. I have a huge 12 inch graphics card, you can't fit it in a laptop. That's why they make "versions" of the same component with a fraction of the performance. If you want a faster computer, desktops will always win. It's like comparing an iPhone to a Laptop.

@ligerman30 I agree that you might as well have a desktop if you are stationary most of the time. But cmon, where have you been? All modern laptops are as fast as desktops, (not that that matters unless you're a gamer or something), and lithium batteries have overcharge protection, it's better to have it plugged in where you can, rather than charging and draining constantly.

He states that Desktops are more powerful. I believe this debate is about which is better. The states "whats nice" about a laptop. am not areally big fan of gaming in pc so i would chose a laptop.

it also depends on wt kind of person u are some like desktop and some laptop. i prefer laptop is better
