Think government design is hopeless? Think again. Introducing the winners of Design for America -- a 10 week contest sponsored by the Sunlight Foundation.
We charged creative citizens from across the country to put on their redesign caps and imagine a new way of presenting government information. The results are incredible.
We received 72 entries of visualizations, websites, infographics, and more that demonstrated that data doesn't have to be boring. In fact, data can be beautiful, compelling, funny, and brilliantly intuitive. These traits are particularly highlighted by our 10 winners. You can see their work for yourself and learn more about Design for America by clicking here: http://sunlightlabs.com/blog/2010/design-america-winners/
