How To Hydroponics - S02E28 Hydroponic Giant Pumpkin Part 07

Well this ends the saga of the hydroponic giant pumpkin. And it was a lot of fun to have an entry for an official pumpkin weigh off. When I entered my pumpkin the judges were really interested in the fact that this was a hydroponic pumpkin and they asked that I give a little speech to a few thousand people about my grow story. Wow was I ever nervous! If you're curious about the official weight it was 87 pounds. Next year I'll be trying for over 100 for sure!

im from Macedonia like to make hydroponic system in home something like u . I bought some things but on the nutrients do not know anything :) . I like to try the salad and tomato and I wanted to ask you whatnutrients I needed it . I watched all your episodes and are very good for beginners like me .

@tatjana09323 please watch my video about "How to mix nutrients". For growing lettuce I would still use a 3 Part Grow Micro Bloom formula. But I would keep the PPM's very low 200-400 as lettuce does not need a lot of nutrients to grow.

Alright matt. Your YouTube vids are cool. Inspired me to have a go at my own hydroponics using solar power, but living in rainy England it might be a struggle. Was just wondering if you could explain your Solar to battery to pump part. Sorry if you have answered this before!

from what i can understand the needs of growing any plant with hydroponics is to change the amount of nutrients it gets as it size grows
