With the advent of velor sword stand cradle linings, it is quite acceptable...matter of fact... in the Tokyo Museum, the Curators display the rarest of swords sometimes blade down.... and sometimes blade up...and might I add, my swords are sooooo durablely vicious... it matters diddly difference upon what the blade edge rests.
