Many journalists and people were awaiting the arrival of that first DC-9 and I did not hesitate to accept the request - I was truly honored in fact. I was familiar and the co-pilot was a fully qualified Venezuelan captain of great experience. Together, he and I turned the situation into a wonderful event. We did a low pass and rejoined left downwind (for the east facing runway) and landed. I spent two days there enjoying the comraderie and glow of the people of Valencia and Aserca.

This video gives me goosebumps. I flew as command pilot bringing the first DC-9 jet to Valencia on an evening flight from Aruba. At the time, I was the Director of Ops for Air Aruba. and the aircraft had been brought to that position by an American pilot (coincidentally, he had been a colleague of mine in an airline in the USA) who was unfamiliar with the Valencia area and who therefore did not wish to make the nighttime approach and landing there.

Los comentarios son de la estirpe de quién los hace. El termino de jalabolas no se a que se refiere, pero lo único que hice fue un pequeño homenaje a esta aerolínea por motivo de sus 15 años ...y si no es así, dame otra aerolínea como opción de bandera en el país! Sus aviones serán viejos, pero son los mejores mantenidos y existe tecnología para hacerlo. No se habla paja por hablar paja, amigo! Das pena.
