Boadicea ( Boudicca) (d. ad 62) Queen of the Iceni in East Britain. She was the wife of King Prasutagus who, on his death, left his daughters and the Roman Emperor as co-heirs. The Romans seized his domain and Boadicea led a revolt against them. After initial successes, during which her army killed as many as 70,000 Roman soldiers, she was defeated and poisoned herself.
