On top of the sexual harassment cases in Egypt, over 50% of the men in Egypt actually admit to harassing the women and blame them for "being attractive." Gentlemen - please take responsibility for actions and fulfill your role in Islam in terms of modesty!!

I used to listen to lectures by Islamic scholars, but they never answered my question about veiling, and always gave examples based on STEREOTYPES. For one, they assume a woman who doesn't wear a hijab wears miniskirts and g-strings. Not all non-hijabis dress that way. They then give the example of two women walking down the street -one wearing hijab and one wearing a skirt- and who gets harassed first. If you read the news, and sex. harassment in Egypt, it says women get harassed either way.

Mashallah, you are so right and I agree with everything you said as I've experienced the same in real life. I do my best to cover modestly and yet men still continue to stare. One time I went out with my whole family (five male members of my family were with me) and strange men still gave me dirty looks!!! It made me realize that veiling is not going to solve the problem. Some men will go after any girl regardless of the veil. They mistakenly believe it is okay to do so.

Yes I know. The point is that men's attitude remains same no matter who is under the Burqa.
