A few years ago I spent 6 months in England as an exchange student from America. I went there LOVING the culture before I even set foot on British soil. Here is what happened in a very condensed form...The passport control officer smelt like beer and literally SCREAMED at me in front of everyone because I did not have my letter from the university stating I was going to be a student (first time traveler). I think, several of my friends there got beaten up at some point by VERY drunk people.
