@TheRavenOfPoe Thank-you, Jennifer. Yes, it was fun for us too. We all said we planned to go again next year! I had never seen such big horses before! That one Clydesdale that the lady was handling by itself was enormous! It was awesome in it's size and power. Yet, it was very "springy" and muscular in the way it walked. I stood waaaaay back, out of it's way! : ) Brian.

Ooh, that looked like so much fun! :) I especially liked the part about the steam machine cutting the wood. Steam machines never cease to fascinate me - amazing how quiet they are!

And the tractor race was really cool too - for some odd reason, it reminds me of the movie "Cars" by Disney where they go "tractor tipping"...

And pumping the water (which I always wanted to try!), and all the animals are all so cute!! Now you've got me wanting to go to a county fair too.

Yeah, it was a great time. If you are into animals or arts and crafts, its the best single place to see all that stuff. I was impressed with the high-quality of everything. The best cookies, the best Pig, the best flower arranging, or Bonzai. And the photography exhibit was also incredible. For about $20 it's very entertaining. Oh I forgot to mention, I'm really into Retro or Vintage Antiques and stuff, so I was really excited to see the old steam engine& old kitchen.

It really makes me thinks about things like psychology, and psychiatry. And how they are practices that sprung up entirely out of people having free time.

A long time ago, the mind was really concerned with survival. And now that certain societies are living a fat life, people are concerned with psych issues(inner child) and other cliches.This vid puts it in perspective for me. Don't get me wrong, there have been some advancements in psych. But not much more after a few individuals.

@TheFaustianMan Wow! What a powerful observation-that most ills are due to idleness, born of the freedom from not having to care about pure survival. When I read this comment I felt instantly that it was true! Hmmm...does that mean the best and most natural therapy for mentally ill people is-taaa-daaaa! Put them to work! Hmmm I better get cracken' then!

PS I hope you spread this truth far and wide. I think so many of society's ills would disappear overnight! Brian.

@LoveMattersMost The problem is two-fold, as I see it. It being virtually illegal to live like that anymore. For instance you cannot go off into the woods, cut down some trees and build a cabin. You need $, permits, bribes, and to know the right people.

Second,, when you are younger you have to attend school for X amount of years. And just sitting there and rote memorization is damning in and of itself. You cannot apprentice or learn anything in the way of self preservation.

Sad, really.
