This boat has 1550 hp Sterlings and those are # 6 drives. The 8 drive has a different torpedo shape and an upswept cavitation plate at the rear. I am pretty certain they had the drives beefed up to handle the 1550 hp but it is really torque that is the deciding factor. If you look at the video when they are tightening the prop nuts it is clearly a 6 drive. John Tomlinson may be the best throttle /setup guy in the business. I have no doubt about the numbers. Wannabe on Offshore only.

Thats impossible since the 1350's come with the M8 drive which is a step above the 6 due to the #6 not being able to handle the top end power output of the 1350. I went to Havasu this year and spoke with Fred Kiekhaefer for about a half hour on the subject of their higher end packages including the 1350, 1100 and their S/C offerings like the 1075 and such. In testing the 1350 package with #6 drives, they lasted no longer then the test itself before various breakage issues occured.

I see the boat has the #6 drives from Mercury, what engines is it running? My guess is the 1075's or 1200 units.
