Oh. I want this on Blu Ray. But for a movie like this, the Blu Ray casing should have looked more spectacular. Like a Blu Ray Box Set with the Original Poster as the Cover Art, and not the "Star Child."

That's a horrible idea. Sure the effects are a bit dated, but effects aren't everything; substance is more important. Don't believe me? They already tried updating a classic sci-fi film, and they ended up with the Star Wars prequels.

I hope they remake this soon. This old one has pretty shitty special effects.

In the hanger since there is no gravity there could be any number of places for people to work.

Who ever thinks that the station was a swastika is a complete idiot who will try to find hidden meaning in something even when there is none.

That's because Kubrick and Lucas used totally different technologies in filming.

For example, in "Star Wars", spaceships could move in front of other bright objects, like planets or other spaceships (blue screen). In "2001" they could not (double exposure).

The blue screen process results in a more degraded film quality.
