  • The history of the word Kenpo is not as important as the ability to defend oneself. Your comment was not a constructive one and you made it quite clear that because Kenpo is not spelt the way you would like it to be the practitioners probably are not of any value. In the words of GM Parker 'when pure knuckle meets pure flesh that's Kenpo'. Is that not the best way of judging the value of ones training rather than the heritage validity of the art?

  • i don't know how much faith i would put into a group unable to spell the very martial art it is supposed to teach. i understand that kenpo has made a place for itself, but still...

  • @governmentcheese411 Well mate theres always one and I guess you are it. Please correct my spelling if its wrong let me know.

  • Thanks guys we are delighted that accomplished martial artists recognise some of the talent we have here in the UK

  • The trapping hands very good!

  • @ellul613 furthermore, i have no problems with your styles, but i do find its origin amusing. i've had the complete pleasure of sparring with several of you guys here in the states and have never been let down. just some ribbing action brother :) we call the local kenpo guys we regularly meet with special ED's for their connection to mr. parker and they usually call us things like ballerinas due to our traditional style Gi that we wear and our crane styles get them going too.

  • @ellul613 i really don't think pointing out a true historical fact hardly makes me the "one". i wasn't making a crack at your spelling. i have studied shaolin kempo for about 10 years now and was just amused at the origin of your "kenpo". when kempo was brought to the west from china. the grand masters were against teaching it to outsiders, but a few did it anyways. later on when those masters died. the students continued teaching it but actually misspelled it. hence the origin of modern kenpo.

  • Good, Good, Great! Nice use of trapping hands

  • Excellent stuff guys, just what Ed Parker would have wanted....

  • Very cool applications. You guys really have a great crew over there. Much respect from southern California here in there states.
