I am humbled to say that Mr. Hampton blessed me with a year to lead this band as a Drum Major in 1999 - 2000!

I'm thankful for video technology because this is proof of what the St. Augustine Marching 100 was really like. What you see today is not even close.

i knew we were special this year. one day during practice i was marching with a sweater or sweat shirt on during parade season practice and once we made the round by the stomp(everybody knows where that is on the yard) I fell out of rank to take off my sweater, once the band completely turned from the fence coming back towards the school I waited to get back on the line. watching the band and not being a part of it really gave me an idea of how GREAT we were. I was floored, jawdropped like damn!

What a year!!!! This is what happens when you mix DESIRE, ABILITY, a sense of PRIDE and throw in an OPPORTUNITY. One of the best things that can happen to anyone is to be a part of this band. Thank you Mr Hampton, Ray Johnson, all Purple Knights, special thanks to Leroy Crawford, Earnest Miles, Earl Short, C. Gales, Tommy Curtain, Virgil Tiller, Bass Shoes, Kiwi Polish Inc., Jupiter Trumpets, Bach and Shilke Mouthpieces, and Arban Method books.

I love it! It was a great year! I played Tenor Drum along with Mike Malone, Lance and Brandon. I would love to go back in time and do it over again!
