@RocktheStageNYC Cool. What's your website?

@sallymmorgan - Yes I am in NYC. We met once a couple years back. I don't remember the venue name but I came up and introduced myself. I think one of your students and one of mine were both singing at the same open mic or competition. Something like that.

@RocktheStageNYC No worries! Do I know you? You're in NYC, right?

@sallymmorgan - Sally, I wholeheartedly apologize. The phrase "Sing Like You Speak" has an a SLS overtone to it on the surface. I should have looked at the other videos first. My mistake and I am sorry. SLS does train with speech on pitch techniques using things like "Mum", "Nay", "Buh" etc.
If your appraoch is not SLS than thank God for that, as SLS does damage over time.

@RocktheStageNYC This in NOT SLS. This is Sing Like You Speak™ which has nothing at all to do with SLS. The differences are great. From what I learned, SLS has nothing at all to do w/speaking on pitch - doesn't train that way. Take a look at some of my other videos and you'll get the difference. Thanks!

One of the few things Speech Level Singing is good for - damage control. You obviously had a lot of tension and underdeveloped muscular control. The only problem is down the line your voice will develop different vocal problems in the upper register from the SLS approach.
