They remind me Siouxsie And The Banshees. Good old days...

If we're going to say this song sounds like Crimson and Clover, then it must also sound like:

"Sweet Jane" - The Velvet Underground

    "Crossing a Canyon" - 54-40

...and a little, but not totally like:

"Fade Into You" - Mazzy Star

"Short Skirt, Long Jacket" - Cake

    "Brimful of Asha" - Cornershop

Meh. There's only so many chords available out there. We are doomed to repeat history.

Dee Dee's written something truly beautiful; aching but beautiful nonetheless. I love this and you all.

For the record, the chord progression is close to Sweet Jane, but not identical. Furthermore, this progression is stupid simple, as was the Velvet Underground's, so really, it's a moot point, since they're not all that special in the first place.

The value isn't in it's novelty. The value is in it's inherent relationship to all other music an things. In my personal opinion that is.

I really love this, but I wonder if Lou Reed is given credit? It is a blatant rip off if the bass line from Sweet Jane!, as someone mentioned! Mazzy Starr covered Sweet Jane...

Harmonies are brilliant. Much music sounds similar to other music, but DDG are different enough to be unique. Listen to this then listen immediately to others then you see the huge difference. This is sharper, harder and clear, & here it rocks. Mazzy Star rarely rocked, Hope Sandovals voice doesnt do that and doesn't have the range that Kirsten Gundred 's voice or songwriting has. There's a world of difference in some bits of songs sounding like some past melody and direct parody.
