A quick test for the Sennheiser MKH416. The mic is plugged into an edirol r44 recorder. the mic is mounted on a rode blimp system with the blimp cover removed. the video was shot on a standard handheld digicam, the mic occasioanlly drops into shot as this was a test and i was listening to the sound from varying distances.

  • audio question, does the Sennheiser MKH 416 connect to the camera? or does it record the audio separately?

  • @strangerswebseries In this situation i am recording to an Edirol R44 sound recorder, seperate from the camera.

  • That mic sounds incredible.

  • had my headphones cranked - that squeak toy scared the crap outta me!

  • Portugal :)

  • very helpful. thanks

  • beautiful sound for such a small room. Awesome field system there!

  • Sorry this may be a bit of a silly question, but how do you record one mic MKH 416 into one input to have L&R stereo sound? I have edirol R44 too but I can only record one mic per chanel that is either L or R. Thank you in advance.

  • Great test Nick....How did you link the time between the audio and video?

Since the R-44 has no time code...

  • Great test. Sounds incredibly clean to be honest.
