i work at albertson's (a grocery store here in america) (the rest of america knows it as acme, star, super valu, or a few other names) and we have automatic doors that open like, well, a door. and they don't open particularly quickly. in fact, i often run into them. i did notice, however, that if i pretend i have force powers, the motion of me swinging my arm will trip the motion sensor earlier and the door opens without me running into it. so now i do it quite frequently.

First, I always do the Force thing at automatic doors. Supermarkets, the mall, the hospital, the airport...as a matter of fact, it's just occurred to me that automatic doors are geeky in two ways: 1. you can do the Force thing 2. if you forget to do the force thing (or are too embarrassed), it's really the only thing we have at the moment from Star Trek. Second, did you tape your camera to your helmet or the bike to film that bit?

I also sometimes "force open" automatic doors. Maybe sometimes just to catch the motion sensor before I'm there.
