Both House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and House Majority Leader John Boehner spoke Thursday about ongoing efforts to reach a deal on the debt ceiling before an August 2nd deadline. (July 21)

@kingtate123 You should research the great depression on the 1920s and how it only lasted 18 months. During that time government got rid of regulations that put a cost on employer ,cut the budget in half, and cut taxes for all. In the end we had the roaring 20s. Then they did that opposite for the great depression which lasted for more than a decade (more government, printing more money, raising taxes in the rich to 85% of income!, and introduction of government programs).

@kingtate123 People like you don't understand how a free market works. Obama is not supposed to save your economy, he is the commander is chief not the CEO of the economy. That is why the best thing for government to do is get out the private sector and stop passing laws that hurt small business trying to hire. Raising taxes on those who make more than $250,000 destroys small companies abilities to hire.

Do some research of how Iran and American where best friends, that we even gave them a nuclear reactor in the 1950s, and why they hate each other now. I think you don't even know that the Constitution is.If you actually read it America was not supposed to be an empire, but a nation that would only fight a defensive war if invaded. Look today we spend so much on military and have bases all around the world.

Do you know how much welfare, social security, and medicare add up to? These liabilities add to $65 trillion right now (expect it to grow just like our deficit). That is over 400% times the GDP! How can we afford that? What is poor in America today? And these programs you talk of translate to more cost to employer who takes it out of employes pay check.

@warmoviesboy raising taxes on the rich and for the people who make more then $200,000 dollars a year was a good plan and should be like that in my case. Why do you think Obama made all these government assistants programs to help people below or the middle class if we didn't have these programs some people probably wouldn't even make it day by day like they barely are now. Obama still has work ahead of him it takes time. So I think you need to think before you say anything next time buddy.
