@mam601 yes i think she is, i don't understand how her paternal great grandmother or whatever was venezuelan. and her dad is 'african american' on her biography [there was a documentary about her early life family etc] they stated that her paternal grandfather was a black man from venezuela and that he changed his last name from Nunez to Carey to feel more accepted amongst the african americans. but hey now she's claiming to be like 1/8 venezuelan or something. ok whatever she says

@xmamiiciitax Wouldn't Spanish count as European, anyway? I think of Latino as people from Mexico and South America, who are part Spanish but also very much native and sometimes black in some cases. And like you said, the language and culture, etc. Spanish and Latino are not the same. I don't understand why people in these videos think Spanish = Hispanic.

"Latino" just means speaking a Romance language and from central or south America (or parts of the Caribbean as well). "Latin" is an ancient European culture and language and linguistic family, including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. There's a difference between a European Latin person (a Spaniard or an Italian or Portuguese) and a Latin American (commonly called "Latino" here in the US) -- who is often, though definitely not necessarily, a mixed-race person.

@Pilaf1984 Yes. Spaniards are white Europeans. It's idiotic how people in the U.S. think Spaniards are the same as Mexicans. Hell, just over 20% of Spaniards have blond hair and and I've heard that a significantly larger minority has light colered eyes. Most however have more brunet features, but still, nowhere close to a typical mestizo from Mexico.....
