@emoboi86 In the settings of Live, under the Midi Sync tab, you have a setting called "Takeover Mode". If you want the Midi controls to react whenever you reach the current value of that control, you have to choose "Pickup". It'll pick up the current value and as soon as you reach it, you'll be able to control it. This way you won't have sudden jumps in volume for example when you're coming back from Pan-mode to Volume-mode :)

Is there a way to set it up so the faders don't catch until they reach the current value? I saw that when you switch to pan and send and moved the faders, the values in Ableton jumped to where the faders were. Can you change this to instead have to bring the faders down before you can bring it back up again on the sends for example?

A presentation made by pro digital audio software/hardware manufacturer should at least be mastered so it is easy to understand human speech :/

all the buttons are too similar one to another.
like for example left right up down could have been organized in a cross or something.

Just picked the APC20 up. Works great once I upgraded Live to 8v3. Is there anything I can't do on the controller that I must do on my mac?
