  • I have a shorter video that is much slower and it may look more realistic. It still is faster than it should be, to scale the train would have to move so slow since the scale is 160:1. I don't want to post more train videos, I have a couple others, this one I like has almost 8,000 hits due to the its title 2ft by 2ft. send me your Email and I will send you other videos. Thanks

  • Yes, I know some of my Clips are too fast, I tried slower and almost so slow that the speed is too scale and the engine kept stopping, most likely to electrical contact is lost.. The incline isn't too scale either, that is way steeper than any loco could pull cars up. I just wanted a small train layout, I made that 15 years ago and didn't put it on Youtube until much later. Even my original engine had only 4 of its 8 wheels from driving and that couldn't pull the care, this engine is all AWD.

  • Thank you, I think the sound effects add a more realalistic element to the video, otherwise the motor and wheel noise would be heard.

  • Its going a little too fast to be realistic but apart from that this is brilliant...

  • its funny cause it has more detail than most train sets and it can fit in a suitcase.

  • awsome like the sound effects

  • Hello, I first laid out how I wanted the track to go on a piece of wood paneling then traced out the pattern then cut. I wanted the track to be smooth on the inclines and the transition from up to down and I wanted a slight bank turn also. I cut out a couple wooden arches for when the tracks crossed each other. I filled in the empty spaces with 2 inch thick Styrofoam laid vertical with each one custom cut to form a contoured surface. I covered the Styrofoam with sawdust held on with Elmers glue.

  • What did you use for inclines?

  • Nice little twice-around layout. You can do a lot in 4 square feet!
