CCS (Continuous Circulation Drilling System) now available from NOV (National Oilwell Varco).

This video explains the function of the CCS; which is the only rig floor machine that permits CONTINUOUS CIRCULATION while making connections; Now in continuous service with Statoil, ConocoPhillips and now with Petrobras.
The CCS maintains steady ECD, bottom hole pressure, cuttings mobility, and constant mud temperatures and properties; with no circulating back of cuttings before connections, no accumulation of fluids during connections and no re-stabilisation after connections.
With no added components in the drillstring or high pressure mud connections on the rig floor and no disconnection of mud from the drillstring, the CCS is instrinsically reliable and safe and is reducing Drilling NPT dramatically.
