one of my favourite song with the river and the fabulous thunder road. can't wait to see him next june in Montpellier, France!!! long live Bruce!!

Contrary to the political yappers -- Bruce actually has worked for a living (loading dock). He's admitted his sister's issues. The real thing.

this song is very sad too me. Reminds me of a time i went through about 4 years back

para mi la mejor canción del Boss, tendrá mas famosas pero esta es insuperable...

A true musician, not like most the crap you hear nowadays.
-
he wrote this in the early 80's...rings true, for someone, in every small town in America today.
The thing is, how could you (Bruce) write a song like this without going through something similar, you know what I mean? I'm haunted by this song. I lost a job, lost myself, and lost my gal...all I wanted was my gal back. You gotta keep on keeping on, man!

This elegiac song of disillusion, abandonment and loss is poignantly contemporary. The things that connect a man to his community have slipped from this guy's grasp: job, wife, a house of their own. The life he had intended and expected has been taken from him by forces beyond his control. His American Dream has been hijacked, and his part in it has slipped from being a stakeholder in the building process to an unwitting accomplice in stabilizing the rails that are steering his destruction.

@solomonmorris7 Mine too!
When I saw him live for the first time I had been brought there by a friend, I was not so sure, thought it could be boring.... Like it or not, but he's the only singer I've ever seen that gives 250 % for more than 3 hours everytime, he's a pure inspiration and a genius... And what a genuine lovely guy, no wonder why he's the Boss !

There are people out there, who don't think Springsteen's music is great ? Can't be normal people.
