In this video I talk about my experience with permanent hair removal (including laser, IPL and electrolysis). I talk about the costs advantages and inconvenients. As a second topic, I also talk about preventing hair loss (balding).

  • I just wanted to say thank you for all of your videos. You are always so intelligent and well spoken. I can always count on you to offer clear, logical, and level headed advice on trans topics. I have recently started using a home IPL device, and am begining to see some results. I have been thinking a lot lately about getting on an androgen blocker. My hair loss has recently increased, and I would like to stop it. Unfortunately, I do not have a doctor, or insurance. Any suggestions?

  • @AutumnPath3 If you're in the US, you can get hormones and anti-androgens online pretty easily. What you can do is start on your own and then look into finding a doctor who will prescribe it and follow you.

  • wow thanks far answering quickly. Although transplants are not viable yet as my hair has thinned "globally"from a one year chronic MRSA staph infection and also 2 months of heavy cortical steroids for severe allergic reactions.I'm planning on a scalp advancement L8R but now am just concerned with stimulating hair regrowth to speed up the natural healing process. It was almost bad enough that I did not want to live for a while,Now however I'm doing anything I can to live.Baldness is death to me.

  • @WheedWhack3R Well, topical minoxydil is apparently fairly effective at promoting hair regrowth. Just make sure you get the generic stuff, it's much less expensive... And get the men's minoxydil. The women's stuff is the same thing at a lower concentration.

  • I am starting transition and Have had some MPB and patchy baldness related to severe illness. Some has come back other places are still patchy. overall I lost 1/3 of my hair through out my scalp. I am on dutasteride/avodart and taking spiro 200/MG and 6MG oestradiol / 3 MG norethisterone orally every day. I will soon be switching to 5mg conjugated estrogen daily without Progesterone and or injecttion. Any thoughts would be appreciated. 24 MTF 2 months in to HRT and 2 days into Dutasteride.

  • @WheedWhack3R Outside of minoxydil and hair grafts, I don't know. I'd advise consulting an expect. You can get pretty good results with hair grafts.

  • @TrannyGirl15 you are a star !

  • The world can be so weird sometimes.

  • It gave me some facial hair that was unwanted and patchy. I use a tweezy on them. Hope they go away, Some new hair has started but is still thin in some spots.

  • If you've got the topical minoxidil, use it. For someone with your skin type, the odds of growing unwanted hair are slim to none. If you were black, the odds would be high.

Now, if your minoxidil is meant to be taken orally, don't do it! It may regrow hair on your scalp, but it is just as likely to grow more body hair, like on your back.
