  • Cool vid!!!

You were in Duisburg/Germany, its my hometown and in1:05 thats the Salvator Church and the city hall.

I´m not sure but i think in 0:57, thats the synagoque at the basin of Duisburg!

Thats cool that you were in Duisburg, because Duisburg is actually a boring City but i love City. And the Gas holder in 1:12 is very close to my home, only 600 meters. Very cool

    Do you like it here?

  • I did enjoy it there. I was an urban planning student at the time when I was there and we were touring around the Dortmund/Duisburg/Essen area looking at industrial redevelopment projects. That's really cool that you're from there. I would love to go back some time. I loved being in Europe, especially Germany. It's a completely different lifestyle than here in the US and I really enjoy it.

  • Hey Eric. Great video. I would like to know how many countries you visited in your trip, how long lasted your trip and how much you spent. Because I´m going to Europe next year, so I´m preparing myself for this. Keep in touch.

  • Thanks for the comment. I was in Europe for 40 days in the summer of 2005. The first 3 weeks were spent on a Study Abroad through my university and the second 3 weeks were spent on my own traveling around. I went to Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, and Italy. Check out the second half of my trip to Europe (I think the video is better).

  • I'm glad that you enjoy your time at the "ruhrgebiet", thats how the region is called (just if you don't know :-))

I play in the "Landscape Parc North", were the gasomter, when i was younger.

It was a big adventure, because it wasn't so nice at the time, but know its a piece of jewelry, isn't it.

    is

  • Nice. Did you enjoy your stay here?

  • Well, I was there for six weeks total, three of which I had to pay for myself (the other half was a college study abroad). I stayed in youth hostels (which I highly recommend, great value and you get to meet a ton of cool people) and they are pretty cheap. I spent a lot on food though because I really wanted to enjoy the authentic foods of Europe. I'd say with air fare I probably spent around 3000 for the whole trip. Not too bad really.

  • Yes I really did go to Europe. I did not shoot these in Oklahoma or something. If you'd get out there in the world too you'd realize there are really places that look like this.
