This video shows Drosophila nuclei in the early stages of development that contain a mutant gene that prevents histone mRNA from being degraded during S phase of the cell cycle. When this occurs, DNA is not successfully replicated, resulting in either incomplete cell division or cell death. In the video above, you can see as nuclei try to split from each other, but many are stuck together or separate in a very "sticky" manner.
