i think it also has to do with kids tv being focus for the under 12's demo where Matthew hosted series and Sooty Heights (made by Gullane not Hit) knew adults where watching with there children.
Plus Jamie Oliver getting Junk Food TV Ad's banned was the final nail in the coffin for CITV. Art Attack, How 2, My Parents Are Aliens are all gone and even the Emu revival will struggle to reach a second series.
You just wish Micheal Grade would leave ITV and give the CITV Channel a chance.

it was my website Reaching Brand New Sooty Heights that got the scoop about Miki when we first launch 7 years ago. But what we didn't know at the time they were going to relaunch the show as 'Sooty', sack Liana, write out Scampi, change the hotel, fired Brenda Longman in series 2 of 'Sooty' and include Butch (the baddie of the Sooty world) as a good guy just because he can talk. Worse still is that they carry on like nothing happen and consider giving Sooty a voice before common sense kicked in.

it was Hit Entertainment team that wrote Sooty Heights and Sooty. Richard Cadell had no hand in writing the scripts and even he has admit some of the episodes were bad. But the relaunch of Sooty next year should change that.

I hate this (sorry) - far too Americanised, rappy and 'trendied' up! I prefer the good old-fashioned Sooty.

I have to agree - a large part of Sooty's charm is how British and quirky he is; having this generic, tuneless nonsense (sung in an AMERICAN ACCENT!!!!) utterly defeats the point.
Bring back Matthew - since he left, the show's gone to the dogs.
