    the "boomerang" uses the oxygen in the ship as the medium to force itself back to the thrower... if the guy throws it outside the spaceship, it will go in a straightline. Point: not amazing.

    Gravity does have limits. Gravity is limited to the speed of light... while spacetime is expanding, relatively, many times faster than the speed of light. Gravity from one region of space will never affect another region of space if they're moving away from each other faster than the speed of light. So if you were in a region of space that had no matter... and it's doubtful at this point in the universe, but at some point, no light... you'd have a region with zero gravity.
