Just another thought - the love between Oskar and Eli is even more tender because it's cast against the bleak backdrop of environment filled with both the mundane and the supernatural evil. Come to think of it, LTROI works because it's about the juxstaposition of opposites on so many levels: the supernatural against the mundane, the gruesome against the beautiful etc.

Perhaps I should go back to the forums.

@alekmosingiewicz yes, the contrast between the many evils, from neglect to bullying to murder makes the love story more powerful, which is why the film is uplifting despite all the horrific things that happen.

Great job on making this clip..This is a great movie..I wish I had time to read the book. I also like the tribute videos ppl make. I'm watching the from my cell..I'm curiuos if anyone has used the song "skin" by sixx am yet. I would if I had the access to pc.

This was a sweet movie. At first, I thought, it would end like, Eli would turn and try to kill Oskar. But then it turned out Oskar being saved from being drowned by some bullies and he and Eli being together. It was a great movie. X3
