I'm one of the biggest Red Wings fans around and no Osgood was not one of the best goalies of all time. Now during the 08 playoffs he was the best goalie on the ice. Bottom line and all that really mattered was when he was in net the Wings had a chance to win. That's all that really matters.

oddly enough, this year actually made me appreciate what a goalie like Oz can do. Luongo has all the talent in the world, but clearly his issue is between the ears. I think the Hawks really got into his head back in 09. He's been vulnerable mentally since then.
While Oz may not be the flashiest player on earth, mentally he's cool as a cucumber. That said, it's probably easier to not feel the pressure when your team is in the conference or cup finals every other year.

@dejar44 Top ten around the league back in his prime or even like 2009, not of all time. My mistake. And yes, I'm not the typical ignorant Red Wings fan that most have amounted to. But any game I watched involved Ozzie getting at least 20 shots on net, typically 25. It did help that we had some tremendous defense, but that doesn't matter when the puck is on its way to the net. And Luongo.... LOL. Now that might be your most overrated goalie hockey has seen in a long while.
