Now thats what im talking about, nothing so humble as a fully armed knight in gear worth a fortune being killed off by a common archer in gear worth less than a good sword. whats realy funny is that that long bow is only #100 pounds, imagine #140 or more.

Excellent little demo video . Arrow penetration always fascinated me . Except you need roughly 3 inches to pierce a mans vital organs . I don't know the exact length of that head , but I know that arrow would inflict a serious wound . In the throat , the guy is done for .

That's what I call a thick arrow.

good archery skills
no insult but that plate is too plain, nothing like a real breast plate should be, a plain plate like that will be far easier to penetrate than a curved one, also that plate looks cheaply made and is rusty...

@IronCoredKnight no problem, no insult taken. Of course it is only plain steel, which is what is stated anyway. that bow was only 100lb draw, but even so there is hell of an impact and believe me even with a good breast plate you wouldn't want to be hit by a heavy war arrow like that even if it didn't penetrate.
Unfortunately a lot of re-enactors and armourers base their armour and point of view on the best surviving museum pieces which in reality only a few of the richest nobles could afford.

Nice vid, but what is the draw weight of the bow, how heavy are the arrows and what distance is the archer?
