Singer Corey Smith says club censored song critical of police

(WRCB) - A Chattanooga bar that made headlines when two police officers were assaulted on opening night is at the center of controversy again.

A Georgia singer says Track 29 management cut his show short when he tried to sing a song critical of police officers.

Cell phone video, taken by a fan, shows the moment Corey Smith says the private club tried to silence him.

It is not critical of all police officers. It is only for the three in Jefferson County, GA who wrongfully arrested him and stole his money out of his pocket. He explains this before the song and the lyrics reflect his story. He even shouts out to all good police officers thanking them for their duties. People who believe this song is wrong are misunderstanding the song's meaning.
