If you have the money private is good, anyone living in a country with universal healthcare system with probably concede that. But the problem in America is that for those without the money is it impossible to get effective full healthcare, however lob you wait

Yes Obamacare will be probably much worse. We will still have lawyers sucking off the system, low skilled workers will be forced into less the 30hours a week and people who would like scaled back plans (high deductible) will not be able to get them. Obamacare is more like fascism, publicly owned but state controlled.

Oh that is right it is because of all the regulations and things you would have to follow that it wouldn't be cost effective. Of course because of the cost and regulations we shall soon go to a single payer system (Obama wants that) and your friend won't still be able to afford care.

We take a bad system (still best in the world) and go with an even worse one. How is that making healthcare better?

In the past, an insurance company could deny you insurance because of a pre-existing condition. This means my friend with ulcerative colitis could not get ANY insurance for any amount of money. Under Obamacare, he can no longer be denied health insurance. BUT (and this is the part that's much-misunderstood), the insurance company is still not required to cover that condition. They they must allow him to buy coverage for other stuff (i.e. preventative care, broken bones, etc.)

Obamacare is NOT a single payer system like Canada. It keeps our system privatized but adds regulations and subsidies to create an environment where everyone can get health insurance. I'm not saying it's perfect, but your claim that we're heading toward Canada-style health care is just simply incorrect.
